Title: Deputy Attorney General - Criminal Justice

Location: Chicago

The Office of the Illinois Attorney General is seeking to fill the position of Deputy Attorney General – Criminal Justice. The Attorney General handles a wide variety of criminal matters across the State of Illinois, including prosecuting high tech crimes, environmental crimes, Medicaid fraud, financial crimes, and statewide grand jury matters (multi-jurisdictional drug offenses). The Office also provides trial assistance to State’s Attorneys Offices across the State, particularly in the event of conflicts or limited resources, and pursues the civil commitment of sexually violent persons. The Attorney General also provides assistance to crime victims through the Office’s Crime Victims Services Division. The Deputy Attorney General – Criminal Justice would be responsible for overseeing and managing all criminal prosecutions, plus crime victims’ services and the Investigations Division.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois
  • At least 10 years of experience in criminal justice
  • Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated team- and partnership-building skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
