The Law Enforcement Training Project Coordinator will coordinate sexual assault response training for law enforcement and prosecutors throughout Illinois. The Project Coordinator will maintain communication with the Joint Sexual Assault Working Group and partners to organize meetings, develop the training curriculum for law enforcement investigations of sexual assault and model policies that will address evidence-based, trauma- informed, victim-centered protocols to improve law enforcement response to sexual assault. In addition, the Coordinator will provide support and technical assistance to law enforcement agencies on the implementation of policies and protocols and evaluate the effectiveness of these policies and protocols.
The Coordinator will develop and update the training curriculum as needed, develop model policies and protocols, work with law enforcement investigators and prosecutors across the state. The Coordinator will assist OAG staff with grant applications and reporting.
The Project Coordinator will act as a liaison between the Office of the Attorney General and other state agencies, community groups, victim service providers and law enforcement organizations throughout the State of Illinois and perform other related duties as required or assigned. Travel is required.
Candidates must either (1) be Illinois licensed attorneys with at least 10 years of experience in legal and/or public policy work, or (2) be experienced law enforcement professionals with at least 10 years of experience and a degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or a related field.
Attorney candidates with extensive experience investigating and prosecuting sexual assault crimes are preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
