OFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Internal Auditor
BUREAU SERVED: Chief of Staff
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Internal Auditor shall, under general direction, plan and develop audit programs for audit engagements, identifying audit objectives, scope and related audit procedures in accordance with professional auditing standards.
The Internal Auditor shall conduct comprehensive examination and evaluation of fiscal operations, compliance, and information technology internal controls that may be of a routine and/or complex nature. The Internal Auditor shall compile and analyze data; prepare working papers and supporting schedules to document work performed; and prepare audit reports summarizing audit results, audit findings and recommendations. The Internal Auditor shall confer with management and staff and audit findings and implementation of suggested audit recommendations.
The Internal Auditor shall continue to gain knowledge of state government, state fiscal practices, and state and federal statutes, rules, regulations, and professional auditing standards. The Internal shall maintain confidentiality of all information obtained and processed through the Internal Audit function.
This position requires a bachelorís degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field, preferably with course work in auditing theory and procedures or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The position requires good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with and interact with people at all levels of the organization. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Hours of Work: 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
