POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Cyber Crime Specialist

DIVISION: Crriminal Enforcement

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Cyber Crime Specialist is responsible for providing overall analysis and case-related support of CyberTipline reports received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Reports may contain images of child pornography, links to online pornographic content or contain text describing child sexual exploitation. This position requires an individual that can handle exposure to sensitive content as well as demonstrate a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in their daily work product. Responsibilities include daily communication with law enforcement, the NCMEC, prosecutors, visitors, and other invested parties requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgement. In addition to these responsibilities, the Chief of Investigations and Cyber Crime Program Manager may assign large scale projects and additional tasks.

This position will require travel and, at times, overnight stays throughout Illinois and out-of-state. Occasional on-call shifts on a rotating basis and some evening hours and holidays may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a minimum of a bachelorís degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science or a related field, a minimum of one year work and/or internship experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to conduct research using law enforcement databases and open source search tools is required. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and a general understanding of spreadsheets is required. This position requires a valid driverís license. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other agency law enforcement personnel, OAG employees, and the general public are required.

Hours of Work: 8:45 a.m. Ė 4:45 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
